"Long paragraphs send a signal to the reader: This will require effort. The writer expected you to have a lot of spare time. Sit down and read awhile. Short paragraphs send a different message: I'm easy! This won't take long at all! Read me!"
McAdams on online journalism:
"At bare minimum, an online journalist should know how to produce a simple Web page and put it online."
I won't mince words. Those bitty hyperlinks contain enough web writing resources to build a minor media empire and storm The New York Times offices. Just read Mindy McAdams, and call me in the morning.. .
