And, as a result, in some cases, people are going to prison for crimes they did not commit."Besides breaking new legal reporting ground, the Mercury News is beating everybody out for multimedia news production values too. They created forums, short video features, podcast interviews, and slide shows to support a sprawling set of investigative journalism pieces. As a storyteller and a journalist and an online publishing junkie, I can't wait until newspapers expect writers to contribute audio sessions alongside writing projects.
