Show Me the Story
Thanks to the ever-so-useful portal at Interactive Narratives, I found this amazing series of podcast/videocast/reported pieces being run at the San Jose Mercury News.  Executive Editor Susan Goldberg explained the project in this letter to her readers:

"Today and for the next four days, we are publishing the results of an unprecedented, three-year investigation of criminal jury trials in Santa Clara County.

Its conclusions are inescapable and chilling: Too many things go wrong in our county's courtrooms. Too many trials are less fair than they should be. Too little is done to correct these problems, even though many officials are aware of them.

And, as a result, in some cases, people are going to prison for crimes they did not commit."

Besides breaking new legal reporting ground, the Mercury News is beating everybody out for multimedia news production values too.  They created forums, short video features, podcast interviews, and slide shows to support a sprawling set of investigative journalism pieces.  As a storyteller and a journalist and an online publishing junkie, I can't wait until newspapers expect writers to contribute audio sessions alongside writing projects.

Let's spend the rest of the day admiring the ever-evolving storytelling medium...
