After spending the evening pondering this crazy essay, I have decided to retire.

This one article will teach you more about the insider-baseball and behind-the-scenes maneuvers that take place in the publishing industry than I could possibly teach you in two years of postings at The Publishing Spot.

This level-headed, Yale-educated, and sarcastic writer helped me put our latest publishing scandal in context. Before you go crashing off into a writing career, remember that in addition to good teachers, community, and talent, it takes plenty of luck to get yourself off the ground.
