If you read ThePublishingSpot regularly, you know that I'm a softie. I don't make fun of other sites or preach politics, and I don't throw punches very well. Nevertheless, snark is one of the most powerful web writing genres out there, and good way to build a dedicated, bitter community. Today, I'm going to point out a few of my favorite sites that throw punches...

Check out the Comics Curmudgeon, a hilarious tech writer who dissects the newspaper funnies with infectious glee. No matter what you think about comics, you should read him for an industrial dose of briliant web writing.

Next, Threadbared takes a sarcastic look at old fashion advertisements, catalog pictures, and bizarre crafts. They have a bit more bite than the Comics Curmudgeon, but always deliver the goods in a couple zinging sentences.

Finally, you should read Gawker every week, no matter where you live. This blog punctures the pompous media and celebrity balloon out here in New York. These people perfected the snarky web genre, making thousands of friends and enemies in the process.
