Steve Bryant, our Lost-Loving, prophetic pal over at Ziff Davis Media, tipped me off to a new writing project from the Daily Kos community. They just published a book full of science essays called Kosmos: You Are Here. The whole project sounds pretty ambitious, a combination of Stephen Elliott's political awareness with good old fashioned blogger innovation.

I need to spend some time exploring the book, and I'll try to track down the writers too. Initially though, I love an essay anthology forged by a vibrant web community. As the publishing industry flounders, these communities will become invaluable tools for book devolopment.
