The WYSIWYG Talent Show reminded me that we web-based writers need to get out of the house more.

After the show, I met some new writers with great communities of their own. Check them out...

I shared a beer with Shappy Seaholtz, a fellow Midwestern transplant writer with a nerdy blog and the busiest reading schedule I have ever seen.

Next, my buddy Adam thumps on the back and tells me about his wandering journalist friend Nate Miller who blogs amusing stories like this one about his overseas adventures.

After that, I bumped into Heather Snodgrass, another nerdy writer with her own cool writing gig in June.

Suddenly, my world is full of all these events and writers I had no idea existed. It's like becoming a Freemason without the tiresome initiation. I vow to leave the house and make friends with bloggers, instead of burying my nose in this computer screen all the time.
