Right now, podcast (or videocast) subscriptions involve complicated (for a layman) negotiations with RSS feeds and URL's and whatnot.
The future belongs to the company that can create a user-friendly device that can do the RSS work on a wireless basis. Van Buskirk might have discovered that company...
"When next-generation players with wireless connectivity arrive, this will be even more important (imagine if your player grabbed new podcasts whenever you walked past any known or open Wi-Fi connection, rather than just Starbucks'). According to Holliman, Podcast Ready has already approached SoniqCast about including myPodder with that company's Wi-Fi MP3 player."
It's a fascinating idea, and it will change the way we think about media all over again. iPod's will become very sophisticated radios, and I won't have to visit Chartreuse or Robert Bruce's website to upload the latest podcast--my iPod will do all the work.
