Liz Strauss once told me, "Don't be disappointed when you find the rest of the world isn't as good as you are," which is a very kind way of saying "Don't take yourself so seriously, stupid!"Over at Modern Mechanix, I discovered this brilliant print ad from the late 1940's selling these bizarre Ironized Yeast Tablets as cure-all for everything from skinniness to depression. Over 60 years later, the tablets seem pretty hokey and wrong-headed.
Despite our attempts to figure out what publishing will look like in 60 years, we really don't have a clue. Someday, somebody is going to dig through the wreckage of The Publishing Spot and say, "Look at the crazy things this guy thought would happen. What a typical hokey and wrong-headed blog from the Aughts!"
