"The time to make movies is now."
Besides writing and directing that short movie up there, Jim Munroe has has published four popular novels by himself and built a multimedia web community over at No Media Kings.
After experiencing Munroe's multi-platform work, I picked him this week for for my deceptively simple feature: Five Easy Questions. In the spirit of Jack Nicholson’s mad piano player, I run a weekly set of quality interviews with writing pioneers—delivering some practical, unexpected advice about web publishing...
Jason Boog:
Internet video is exploding right now. Why did you choose video? Do you have any advice for fledgling writers/moviemakers?
Jim Munroe:
I chose video because I thought it was cool that something that previously was super expensive to make could now be done by a much wider range of people.
The Do It Yourself articles on the site have much more talented video makers giving advice on how to make movies with no money and even no camera -- one of my faves is this one.
In general, don't buy anything until you absolutely need to: you
can probably borrow everything you need and this lowers the stress on the project hugely.
