This new web magazine profiles bloggers with generous, well-researched long form journalism-- giving you plenty of insight into the writing lives of bloggers.
They recently profiled hip-hop hipster Sage Francis. These long profiles explore his many side-projects, dishing out plenty of links that you would never find otherwise.
Check it out...
"[Francis] posted an open invitation on his blog for MP3 submissions from artists hoping to make their marks on his next album, due out in spring 2007. As his career has progressed, Sage has become an activist as well. He co-founded knowmore.org with the poet Bernard Dolan, the goal of which, according to the site, is “chronicling and resisting corporate attacks on democracy, worker’s and human rights, fair trade, business ethics and the environment.”
I also liked Stella Daily's profile. This blogging crossword puzzle champion is perfect for long profile form: a quirky artist with plenty of obsessive quotes to send the reader zooming through the story...
"Read her blog, Stellavision, and you’ll soon learn that this is the kind of thing that drives her battier than yet another clue for the word 'alee.' 'I have just always hated losing,' Stella said. 'I don’t remember a time when losing was, you know, not fun but I can deal with it. I just always hated it and so that’s translated into my being hyper-competitive.'"
