Are You Drinking Enough?

After we wrapped our first videoblogged author interview, my buddy wrote in with a pile of suggestions. I think Ryan Hudson points out some good things that will help any web-minded writer.

I especially appreciated his ideas about LiveJournal. This blogging platform doesn't get enough credit, even though it is full of talented writers like Nick Mamatas and Christa Faust.

"LJ Communities are a great way to increase your readership. I hate putting it like that, but at the end of the day, it matters to you. It matters to me, too. I haven't had such great luck with it, but I'm not exactly putting my balls out, just yet. Still, with a little tact and patience, you can friend more people and get a serious readership. I mean a serious readership. Do an interest search or two and then join a few. Watch them. Lurk.

"Tags. Put those to work for you. I was overjoyed when they turned up. It makes ordering your site way easier. It also frees up the title.

"All of this takes time."
