Turns out our blogging buddy is a skinny, emphatic talker who can leap conceptual mountains in a single bound. Just like his blog, he ping-ponged between the demise of the record industry and his hopes for web video in the same sentence.
It was fantastic to pull back the computer curtain, meeting the people behind the carefully edited thoughts and graphics we stick on our blogs. There were no strings and no props, just a bunch of writers hanging out in a bar--the kind of community that I love.
A few things happened:
An announcement was made.
Loren Feldman frisked me (he's the guy in hat in the picture), and I realized that the first time I saw his face was in a YouTube video he shot on his toilet.
Chartreuse's brother Travis tried to sell me on San Francisco.
Nathan from Swarming Media taught me everything I ever needed to know about the economics of file-sharing sites.
I found out that Michael Doig is my neighbor. Who knew that this friendly guy with the wildest career arc I've ever seen lived right down the street?
It was a good time, and it gave me plenty to think about over the next few weeks--you'll get the highlights...

Was a lot of fun huh? Great meeting you. Really was fun, except losing at trivia!
