Erika Dreifus literally wrote the book on writing markets for poets, non-fiction writers, and fiction-ists. Over at her website, The Practicing Writer, she delivers plenty of free advice...

"I've been perusing plenty of children's magazines online and, at the same time, noting

submission guidelines. Some of the magazines from Carus Publishing--including Calliope, Dig, Faces, and Odyssey--have recently updated their editorial calendars and theme lists. These are all paying markets, so if you're interested in writing for children, check them out."

Author's Note: I'm on vacation this week. I was too swamped to line up guest writers to cover the blog while I was gone. So, I decided to steer you to a different superhero from my blogroll every day--featuring the work of my favorite web writing writers. I'm imagining what these people would write if they were guest posting...
