While researching print-on-demand (POD) and other self-publishing resources, I discovered a place that can help you with book publicity and marketing--my weakest subjects.
There's an entire support industry springing up around self-publishing, and the website Write and Self Publish Your Book consults, runs magazines about every major genre, and sponsors a book-publishing contest too.
I especially enjoyed this podcasting interview with book marketing expert, Penny C. Sansevieri. Just listen to this publishing prophecy:
"I think eventually all publishers will use POD technology, many of them already do. Print-on-demand has already leveled the playing field and as we continue to fine tune the digital technology that supports this we'll see a more affordable print run as well as books that carry the look and feel of their traditional counterparts. POD has done for the book industry what iTunes did for the music industry. It's allowed anyone with a voice to be heard."

Jason, I saw where you stated one of your weakest subjects is book publicity and marketing. My colleague, Bettye Jamerson and I believe this happens with many non-fiction authors. We have formed The Virtuous Woman Literary Corner podcast which showcases "non-fiction authors, male and female. We help new authors with marketing and promotions. Many new authors discover the challenges of marketing and get discouraged. We are here to encourage and provide resources. We wish you success in your publicity and marketing promotions.
