Without friends to help you find work, blog about your writing, or help edit your stuff, you will never make it. I met Steve Bryant, editor of Reel Pop and GoogleWatch three years ago, and I wouldn't have made it this far without his support.
Today I'm using Steve as a visual aid for webby friendship, letting him steer us through the wooly world of web video. Welcome to the second installment of my interview with Steve Bryant, part of my deceptively simple feature: Five Easy Questions.
In the spirit of Jack Nicholson’s mad piano player, I run a serialized set of weekly interviews with writing pioneers—delivering some practical, unexpected advice about web publishing.
Jason Boog:
In the world of web video, who are the people we should be watching? What are the websites we should be reading? Why?
Steve Bryant:
I don't usually watch that many shows, to be honest. Maybe Ask a Ninja or Ze Frank from time to time.
Usually I'll just go on YouTube and search for something that has to do with what I was reading or watching today. Which today happened to be the Takeshi Kitano flick Brother.
So I went on YouTube and found Takeshi kicking a huge doll in the face while being carried by men in black leotards. Neat.
Then I remembered that I saw these photos of Bumblebee from the upcoming Transformers movie, so found this awesome Citroen commercial and then this screen test from the movie.
Then I remembered that the prerelease photos of Megatron make him look like a retarded canopener. Boo.
