Yesterday I got an email from a fan fiction writer who's obsessed with a Japanese manga story called InuYasha. The original series is almost 500 chapters long, with no end in sight--the perfect, sprawling story for fan fiction writers.
Check out Celonhael's Tome for more information, but I thought their note was worth reprinting...
"I write InuYasha fan fiction on AnimeSpiral and I can tell you it's a pretty big thing, and I don't just mean InuYasha fanfic, but any fanfic, be it anime, modern culture, video games, television shows, etc. I think people need to realize there's more than one form of written entertainment out there, and that not all literature needs to be deep, though-provoking. Some people want a nice, interesting, entertaining read that will just take them away for a while."
Attention fan fiction writers, who should we be reading next?
