It hurts to admit it, but you can follow every piece of advice I have to offer and still not be happy with your writing career. You know why?

There's one crucial thing that I can't do for you: find you writing friends.

Last Monday I had a drink with a few of my writing friends: new media scribe Chartreuse, tech journalist special guest Steve Bryant, and long-form journalist Jesse Sunenblick.

Over the course of two hours, I had mapped out Five Easy Questions, Jesse was scheming his next writing gig, Steve had drafted this essay, and Chartreuse was writing this post.
