Today, Jeffrey Yamaguchi (a former Five Easy Questions victim) beat us all to the punch with one of the most useful pieces of blogged wisdom you will read anywhere. The title says it all: "How To Write Your Novel When You're on the Clock."
Nobody would ever admit that they write at work, but frankly, if you are a fledgling writer, you MUST HAVE a day job. There's no time like the present to figure out how to balance that day job with your writing life, and Mister Yamaguchi has some great suggestions:
"Just like smokers trying to quit throw a piece of gum in their mouth every time they feel the impulse to light up, every time you open up your browser to check out a gossip site or the blog you are currently addicted to, fire up your word processing program and pound out a paragraph or two of writing."
