We're back in business today. I came back in time to see my friend Jesse Sunenblick pitch his writing wares on Craigslist. I'm not kidding. He has just become the world's first Classified Writer.
It's the craziest idea I've heard in years, and I love it. Even better, he was inspired by our other friend, Chartreuse--who also seems to be traveling in new directions as well.

"It all started after a conversation with the blogger, Chartreuse. I was feeling low about my prospects in the journalism world, especially after two editors turned down my pitch to go to Venezuela during the presidential election to write about the Daily Journal, an English language newspaper that had, supposedly, been converted into a propaganda arm of the Chavez administration.
"Chartreuse tried to cheer me up. He told me magazines were “dead,” that I should pitch Craigslist as though it were a magazine. I don’t know about that. What I do know is, I feel morose sifting through the frighteningly efficient flume of lifestyle fetishes that pass for magazines these days, looking for the original stories—not ”PIECES” or “ARTICLES”—I love to read. "
