How To Interpret Different Kinds of Rejection
The worst part about this job is how to interpret rejection. Editors send everything from cryptic emails to form letters, confusing us and lowering our already low self-esteem.

Every few weeks I like to steer my readers over to Miss Snark, the blogging agent who dishes out fantastic advice about the mysteries of publishing.

Recently, she gave us a look inside the mind of an editor, giving us some clues about how to interpret rejection letters.

Think about it:

"If you are getting is form rejection letters, the odds are it's your writing. (50% of the writing I get is just not good enough to consider further).

If you are getting rejections that talk about specifics, it's still your writing, but you are closer to producing something saleable. (That's about 3 in 10)."
