Everybody at The Publishing Spot loves a good contest. As your writing guide, it is my duty to contest the heck out of you. Start sending those entries!

Over at About.com, Ginny Wiehardt published a list of contests with November deadlines, and it's a doozy. There's contests from everywhere, including France and Nebraska.

Then, Sarah Weinman wrote about a specific mystery contest worth a thousand dollars, plus publication. Check it out:

"The contest will honor an unpublished work of mystery fiction written in the tradition of the Nero Wolfe mystery stories: this tradition emphasizes the deductive skills of the story’s sleuth and eschews overt sex and violence."
