Is Chartreuse Crazy, Smart, Smart-Crazy or Crazy-Smart?

Everybody's talking about new media scribe Chartreuse, and his new project that seems to involve secret passwords, new multi-media material, and a monthly subscription fee.

Is he crazy? Is he smart? Is he crazy-smart? Smart-crazy? Everybody's got an opinion. The Blog Herald snickers. Duncan Riley is iffy. If you want, Technorati will show you more.

But the real fun came in the comments section on Chartreuse's old blog. I'm going to stick with this reader:

"The pdf was fun…so was the Q & A easter egg hunt. The fee might be ok if you are going to get free stuff with it…and Mr. C does have good taste…but my guess is that the fee might be just to provoke OUTRAGEOUS REPONSES!!!!??"

Personally, I don't care. I've loved his wacky ideas since the beginning, and I'll play along until they shut down the Internet.

What do you think? Big mistake? Or big step in a new direction?
