I just received my first email of the year from the good folks over at National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). That's the yearly competition that challenges writers around the world to write fifty thousand words in a month. Fifty. Thousand. Words. In. A. Month.
I did it last November, and it was the best writing experience of my entire life. The absolute most useful thing any writer can do is write insanely for a month straight. It took me a whole year to sift through all the stuff (good, bad, or otherwise) that I produced.
Check out the site and tell me what you think. If you are interested in participating, drop me a line. I'd love to brag about (and link to) any readers who take the NaNoWriMo challenge.
I might even join you...
