Last night I made a whole bunch of writer friends without even trying. You can too. I went to the WYSIWYG Talent Show and Cringe reading, a mash-up of the world's two craziest writer series in NYC.

Last night, Lindsay Robertson unveiled some lyric poetry about Kurt Cobain. Marc Balgavy brought a couple sweet, anonymous love letters he mailed in middle school. Sarah Brown read a few letters from a high school stalker. Joshua Newman reminded us of hundreds of awful clothing choices we all made during the 1990's. Chris Hampton unleashed her inner cheerleader.

Why am I telling you this?

Because you need to find the writing community events around you. With the Internet, no writer ever needs to feel alone again. Ever.
