Over at the Creative Writing MFA Handbook, our unofficial writing school guru, Tom Kealey, is running a special feature about "under the radar" programs at universities around the country. The list is thoughtful, systematic, and extremely descriptive.

For anybody looking to go back to school, I'd recommend checking out these places first. These programs generally offer better financial aid and will put you inside a smaller community.
