The Videos Politicians Don't Want You To See

Last week, I wondered why nobody's using YouTube for politics. Today, web journalist Steve Bryant did a better job than me, digging through YouTube for Senate election videos. KEYWORD BY KEYWORD.

He came up with all sorts of YouTube wisdom, and you need to read the whole thing. It explores the why politics needs better web writers (and videos!)--showing what happens when we ignore video.

Dig the last movie too, how smart writers can craft a deadly weapon out of a couple campaign photos and a simple quote. What do you think?

"If a candidate doesn't try to control his/her keywords on YouTube, their opponent can use that weakness against them. For example, Michigan incumbent Debbie Stabenow (D) doesn't have a good presence on YouTube. The most popular videos containing her name were uploaded by her opponent, Mike Bouchard (R). Those videos have titles such as Debbie Stabenow Doesn't Want You to See This and Shh...Don't Let Debbie Know You've Seen This."
