As we long for another weekend, I wanted to refresh your memory on some of the content you may of missed last week at The Publishing Spot. Sit back, enjoy, and don't think too hard this Monday morning...

We interviewed Sam Douglas, a fiction editor from the publisher, Picador. Douglas discussed book proposals and the best book ideas, giving us plenty to remember before sending our work to an editor.

National Novel Writing Month launched, and we opened up the Crazy Novelist Support Group to help our readers survive this grueling writing marathon.

We celebrated national inebriation day for writers, thinking about odd and compelling places to write the next chapter of your novel. Fun ensued, but nobody got hurt.

The Newsvine folks opened a book reviewing thread, and I celebrated by plugging Thomas Pynchon's new book.
