"It's still been an excellent experience -- it gave me the discipline to work on novels I never would have attempted otherwise, as well as bringing spontaneity to my writing when I might have otherwise gotten bogged down in research or rewriting."
That's Pete from the litblog PeteLit explaining why he's taking the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) challenge this year. For the fifth time in his life, he's trying to write a 50,000-word novel draft in November.
I did the whole thing last year, and survived. This year, I'm cheering on our NaNoWriMo-ing readers--offering them any technical advice, moral support, promotion, or anything else they need.
If you're taking the NaNoWriMo challenge (or know somebody who is), drop me a line. I'd love to add your name to the Crazy Novelist Support Group®, and follow your adventure. After the jump, I've listed all our brave readers cracking the books today...
"I have always loved writing, but a need for what others perceive as a more stable career got me to end up in teaching instead. Over the last few years I have been committed to getting my writing going, really just as an experiment to 1) see if I enjoy it, and 2) to see if I'm any good at it,"That's why Johann Black, a blogging teacher, started his novel today.
He's joined by Newsvine writers Yasmin and Miss Dev and RWarner and E to the Z. They've all thrown their metaphorical hats into the virtual ring, earning spots on our Crazy Novelist Support Group®.
Stop by their pages and wish them luck, and remember, there's always time to join this cracked band of writers.
