I'm not kidding. Close the browser window, disconnect your Airport card and start writing--the way you used to write before the Internet showed up. Over at Poynter online, writer pro Christopher "Chip" Scanlan is collecting the best advice about how to stay seated in front of your computer screen and keep writing.
His entry includes a robot scientist and novelist talking about discipline and some more inspiration advice from Shoptalk: Learning to Write with Writers. It's well worth a visit, check out the whole article with this most excellent title: The Best Writing Tip of All Time: Sit.
When I feel unmotivated, I always go back to my interview with novelist and journalist Tony D'Souza. In a long essay about craft, he told me:
"Develop a discipline. Do whatever it takes to get yourself seated before the paper. If you have to drink, drink. If you have to divorce your husband, divorce him. If you have to dump your kids at your parents’, dump them. Decide what you want to do with your life."

Nice link and topic.
I had the pleasure of having a coaching session with Chip Scanlan during a work-related conference a couple years ago. Great guy, seasoned veteran, and a true writer in so many ways.
