The answer follows, but first of all...the excellent Writer Beware blog has a winning piece of news: 120 writers who had lost money through an allegedly deceptive publishing agency have launched a class-action suit to fight back.
The post is loaded with resources for writers who don't want to be scammed, and celebrates victories against allegedly deceptive companies: "Even if we don't get back our money, we are determined to gain back our pride and dignity. Let this be a lesson for all predatory publishers in the future."
Just in case you don't have enough web videos to watch, Jeff VanderMeer's book blog Omnivoracious has a new Friday Night Videos feature that pits two author YouTube videos in a contest of wits. This week a solemn James Frey explains how he barely edits his first drafts--a rare, mysterious kind of writing style.
